1. DROPPING COINS or BOTTLES
This is common but it’s very hard to notice.
The thieves drop items close to your feet and then ask you to pick them.
ask you to pick them. Sorry to you if you are sitting at a window seat.
The window will be opened by someone on the outside and your valuables will be grabbed pap and disappear in thin air..
They also use this method to pick pocket you as you concentrate on picking the dropped item.
They will fart and ask you to open a window. As you turn to do so, having forgotten to turn with your bag, they will quickly snatch things out of it and disappear onto the street.

2. NOT GIVING SPACE
This happens mainly when you are in a 14 SEATER matatu, the thieves move sideways to allow you space to pass through instead of alighting to allow you comfortable space to get out or in the matatu.
They refuse to create space as you try to shove your way through, they ransack your pockets because they know you are focused on squeezing your way out or in of the vehicle before the matatu starts moving.
3. ENTERING THE CAR WITH MANY CHILDREN
some of these thieves will pretend to be passengers and get on board with many children.
Since they don’t want to pay fare for all of them, they will ask fellow passengers to assist them by carrying a child for them.
The gangster will sit back as he oversees the children, who will be then have made themselves comfortable on your lap, as they steal things from bags placed on or beside them by the victim… Very sad.

This time passengers are told to hurry and put on seatbelts, leaving them turning in their seats searching for these faulty gadgets.
Thieves have taken advantage of this by asking fellow passengers to try and locate a seatbelt for them ad as you turn looking for the snap, they pull things out of your bag or steal all u have.
6. PRETENDING TO SLEEP
They pretend to be sleeping and this will annoy you as they do it by snoring and leaning on you. They are, however, not asleep. By constantly nodding off into you and distracting you, they pull things out of your pockets if you are not aware at all.
